We are often defined by what we possess and what surrounds us. 'Absent' is a photo series which tells the story of a person by looking away from that person. It focuses on everything that is around - like a torn kite hanging upon a wire or a row of plants in front of the house.

The skin is the most genuine record of our existence. With every passing age, the skin adds a wrinkle like an evidence of what has happened. This series of photographs focuses on the story of the 1971 Bangladeshi immigrants. It looks closer at their skin to unfold their plight from one country to the other. Most of them, who are now in their 60s, were 10 years old when they had to escape from their country. Now, in a post-retirement life, they face new challenges. Sometimes it is cancer, sometimes it is the fear of isolation.
My mother never lets me enter the kitchen and, building on that, I developed the habit to never participate in any household chores. I never volunteer to help my mother around the house, as she collects our clothes from various corners, cleans the dishes after every meal, sweeps the floor every single day at noon, or keeps our dinner on the table at 8 pm sharp.
The sky isn't the exact symbol that comes to mind when we hear the word 'equivalent'. Photographer (and one of the pioneers in the field) Alfred Stieglitz perceived the sky in a brilliantly refreshing angle.
